Carriage & Wagon Departments |
|
There are departments at Kidderminster, Bewdley and Bridgnorth dealing with repair/restoration of carriages. Kidderminster is the principal depot for mechanical restoration with Bewdley and Bridgnorth specializing in bodywork both interior and exterior. This department needs all trades covering the activities involved. Where appropriate the interested volunteer can, for example, learn painting techniques, lining, signwriting etc. It goes without saying that volunteers in this department achieve enormous satisfaction when the fruits of their work can be seen in vehicles returned to their former glory and running in service.
Wagon restoration and maintenance is centred in Bewdley and needs skilled volunteers such as carpenters, metal-workers, machinists, painters and also cleaners and general help.
